Food Bank

The Haven’s Food Bank has been truly blessed with several compassionate donors from the Etobicoke community. We certainly have many uplifting stories to share with you.

We have many inspiring stories to share from 2022. One of these is an uplifting example of how just one family can affect many others’ lives.

This year, the family behind the KC Dhawan Foundation reached out to us before Thanksgiving. They blessed our clients with dinner packages, and thanks to their generous donation, we could fill the weekly grocery bags with whole chicken, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, and acorn squash. Seeing an entire family working together to help provide for our community was very touching. Not only did they donate these packages, but they came to the Haven to pack the bags themselves. Our clients were so excited to receive a full Thanksgiving dinner and were able to enjoy the holiday with their families.

We also want to recognize The Grille on the Queensway for their generous donation of Thanksgiving meals. We could hand out portions of roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, mixed veggies with gravy and cranberry sauce to 240 people.
