Haven on the Queensway is a nonprofit charitable organization meeting the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of people in Etobicoke and surrounding communities.

To those who come through our doors we offer an atmosphere of respect, dignity and security as we help people on their way to becoming more self-sufficient.

Milestones  

In June 2007, Haven on the Queensway became the new face to the building formerly known as “Casino Gentleman’s Lounge.” Renovations quickly got underway and countless hours were poured into tearing down the old walls, rooms and floors, creating a brand new, safe welcoming atmosphere. 

In May 2009, Haven on the Queensway officially opened its doors bringing HOPE to people in our community who are struggling in poverty or are in a crisis situation. At the Haven they can find food, clothing, resource support, a cup of coffee or soup, a smile and an encouraging word.

Our main program is our food bank that services 350 clients on a weekly basis.  We distribute approximately 96,000 pounds of food each year. As well, Hope With Wheels and Cornerstone provide hot meal services each week to those who are unable to visit our food bank.

Our other programs care for homeless and emotionally hurting individuals in our community. These services include Clothes Closet, Children’s Book Centre, Pregnancy Care, mentoring, support and recovery groups, employment and career counsel, and community service referrals.
